Beloved, being very eager to write to you of our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. Jude 1:3*

      The Apostles' Creed

We believe in God the Father Almighty,

     Maker of heaven and earth:

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:

     Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

     Born of the Virgin Mary:

     Suffered under Pontius Pilate,

     Was crucified, dead, and buried:

     He descended into hell;

     The third day he rose again from the dead:

     He ascended into heaven,

     And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty:

     From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Ghost:

     The holy Catholic Church;

          The Communion of Saints:

     The Forgiveness of sins:

     The Resurrection of the body,

     And the Life everlasting.

Amen.

He has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.  He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation; for in him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities--all things were created through him and for him.  He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.  He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in everything he might be pre-eminent.  For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.  Colossians 1:13-20*
